Rights that are now considered fundamental were conquered in the 19th century. The fight for freedom and dignity for black people. Women’s right to vote. Social rights are achieved by impoverished workers. Despite this, little is said about these achievements in traditional narratives regarding the supposed generations/dimensions of fundamental rights. This text aims to present these social conflicts as a way of highlighting the importance of a critical and constructivist approach to basic rights, and at the same time demystifying the idea of a gradual creation of these rights through generations/dimensions. Fundamental rights are part of the constitutional history of each country, and they go through advances and setbacks.
