O "Espaço do Cidadão" no Brasil urbano-metropolitano: transição demográfica, transições urbanas e mobilidade espacial

Abstract

This article aims to associate the perspective argued by Milton Santos about the "citizen's space" to the concepts of demographic transition and urban transitions, emphasizing the importance of implementing public policies that lead to improvements in the conditions of spatial mobility, accessibility and connectivity in the urban-metropolitan Brazil. The realization of citizenship or the right to "citizen's space" represents monetary income, welfare and opportunities. In other words, the three elements that underlie what David Harvey, conceptualized as "real income".
