Conhecer para cuidar: estudo dos impactos da pandemia da COVID-19 sobre a saúde mental de moradores e profissionais de saúde de Valença-RJ

Objective: is to investigate the impact of the Covid 19 pandemic on the mental health of the population and the health professionals in the municipality of Valença- RJ. Materials and methods: cross –sectional quantitative and qualitative study trought the application of a questionnaire via Google Forms for health professional and residents of Valença, about mental health during a pandemic. Results: 128 people were interviewed, among them 86 residents and 42 health professionals from the municipality of Valença-RJ. The main age group was 19 to 30 years old. The majority being female. The most reported complaints were “anxiety” and “fear”. Conclusions: after analysis, even thought the population is considerable, better investigations are still needed to define the real dimension of the damage caused. And, from that, define the best conducts.
