Abstract

Objective: To report the experience of technological production of an educational guide on Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus for adults and the elderly. Materials and methods: descriptive report of an experience carried out between August 2021 and September 2022, which resulted in a final paper for the nursing course at the State University of Amazonas. The experience is presented in two stages: literature review and construction of the educational guide. Results: In the literature review, 10 articles were obtained and from the analysis 10 generating themes emerged, which constituted the structure of the educational technology entitled “The guide on Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: information on self-care for adults and the elderly”, with 44 pages and organized in 17 topics. Conclusion: The literature review enabled the synthesis of the knowledge necessary for the construction of educational technology on type 2 diabetes Mellitus for adults and the elderly. Evidence-based production thus emerges as a strategy to be applied by health professionals for the construction of educational technologies.
